В воскресенье 26 августа 1990 года Стиви Рэй Вон в составе группы «Double Trouble» участвовал в концерте в рамках программы «In Step Tour» на горном курорте «Alpine Valley Resort» в городке Ист Трой, штат Висконсин. В концерте, состоявшемся в музыкальном театре «Alpine Valley Music Theatre», также участвовали и другие известные музыканты, в частности Эрик Клэптон и Бадди Гай. После выступления в ночь на понедельник часть участников концерта направилась в Чикаго. Летели они на четырёх вертолётах, взлетавших в условиях сильного тумана друг за другом с двухминутными интервалами. Вертолёт, на котором летел Вон, разбился через несколько десятков секунд после взлёта, столкнувшись со склоном горы. Взрыва и пожара от удара не было, но все летевшие в этом вертолете погибли мгновенно. Произошло это 27 августа 1990 года в 1 час ночи.

We've used the original 30 inches-per-second, half-inch analog master tapes for all of these studio albums as well as for the bonus tracks included on the SACDs. Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound cut the lacquers for the LPs using the ultimate VMS 80 cutting lathe. Gary Salstrom handled the plating and the vinyl was pressed of course at Quality Record Pressings. Andy Aledort, senior editor for Guitar World, wrote the liners with contributions from Stevie Ray Vaughan biographer Craig Hopkins. This set includes a deluxe booklet. And all of the records are housed in a deluxe box (the first 1,000 are gold foil-numbered).
We've also used the correct original master for Soul To Soul. Every version of this record since 1999 has been from an incorrect source with the wrong take of the track "Life Without You." We've got it just as the original.
Another factor separating these SRV SACDS — they include bonus tracks sourced from the original master tapes.
There's not a link in this chain that wasn't absolute first-rate. The absolute best that money can buy.
But beyond that we've poured our passion into this project. Acoustic Sounds is a big fan of the blues and Stevie Ray Vaughan. It's a big dream come true to work on this project and to make these records sound and look the best they ever have.

Цитата:Texas Flood is the first studio album by the American blues rock band Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, released on June 13, 1983 by Epic Records. The album was named after a cover featured on the album "Texas Flood", recorded by blues singer Larry Davis in 1958. Produced by the band and recording engineer Richard Mullen, it was recorded in only three days at Jackson Browne's personal recording studio in Los Angeles. Vaughan wrote six of the ten tracks on Texas Flood. Two singles were released from the album. A music video was made for "Love Struck Baby" and received regular rotation on MTV in 1983. In 1999, Texas Flood was reissued with five bonus tracks including an interview segment, studio outtake, and 3 live tracks recorded on September 23, 1983 at The Palace, Hollywood, California. In 2013, The album was reissued again, this time with two CDs in celebration of the album's 30th anniversary. Disc 1 is the Original album with one bonus track, Tin Pan Alley, which was first released on the 1999 reissue. Disc 2 is a previously unreleased concert recorded at Ripley's Music Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 20, 1983.
