Thank you for your inquiry. These are genuine Taiyo Yuden discs made in Japan for sale by Rimage Corporation. They are the best discs available from TY, which is why TY made them in gold rather than the more common silver. They were made using a golden color plastic, so the color is pure all the way through. The discs are likely to have a golden color metalized area as well, to enhance the gold appearance. The printable surface is of course the famous white Taiyo Yuden coating, so your images will adhere evenly without the jagged white areas and other imperfections commonly found with lesser quality discs.

We use the same discs in our business, with both our Everest and Prism printers, with perfect results. If we have a problem with a job being run with non-TY discs, our first solution is to substitute these discs for the discs being used, whether they are Blu-ray, etc., and this lets us know if it is the discs or if the printer needs to be repaired. So far, it has always been the poor quality of the other discs. These discs are truly the reference standard.
